Flirting with Luddism: The Meaning and Value of Science
Science is great. Evil, insanity, and the Big $cience Oligarchy are not.
Here’s something I wrote this morning for an email distribution. The list contains 10 or 12 of the usual participants including Sean O’Nuallain, Brian Josephson, and Jack Sarfatti along with several others (who have thus far not commented). The thread is about the systematic perversion of science and the oligarchic betrayal of humankind using its technological output.
Sean O’Nuallain: "I would go quite a bit further, and say that the Covid-19 pandemic in particular has shown that the entire scientific establishment is corrupt and incompetent. In any case, it is not fit for [its alleged] purpose: protecting the future of humanity, which is now in considerable danger."
My Response: Precisely. Science is good for mankind only as long as it can be kept honest and constructive, but has now been almost irretrievably corrupted, divorced from truth, and reduced to a political pry bar. I've been warning about this for decades.
"How dare you!" goes the usual response in the finest Greta Thunberg style. "We owe everything to science! We have no other means of seeking truth and understanding of ourselves and our reality! And look at the marvelous technology it has given us!"
How naive, antiquated, and absurd. Obviously, science is as science does, and in the grasping hands of those who now control it, it is doing no net good at all.
